            <salute>My dearest Rose,</salute>

            <p> Since I wrote on Saturday a considerable alteration has taken place in our beloved
              Father. His extreme weakness increases daily &#8212; we will write again in a day or two we
              will be sure to write to you if there is any serious change in our dear Father. </p>
            <p> Mr Woolaston has just been&#8212;and say[s] he is <hi rend="underline">easier</hi> and
              that is all he can say. Do not distress yourself as we shall write again soon. </p>
            <p> Our beloved Father is perfectly calm and collected and is in a delightful frame of mind.
              In all his sufferings bearing them with <hi rend="underline">perfect patience</hi> and
              in his mind enjoying perfect peace. Truly God is good to see giving His comfort to our
              dear Father. </p>
