            <p>I am ill &#8212; incapable of thinking soundly &#8212; or of writing otherwise than
              briefly &#8212; yet harassed by a letter last week from Shepherd, &amp; accruing
              cares, surmountable ones, though.</p>
            <p>Sorry am I to trouble you, but <hi rend="underline">unless I see you, there cannot be
                a grant from the Literary Fund.</hi></p>
            <p>An interview may I think tend to settle <hi rend="underline">all</hi> matters. But it
              should be <hi rend="underline">tomorrow</hi>, if you can give the time to meet me
              here, &amp; to see Mr. Woollaston. My wife &amp; Ellen, thank God, are well. I want
              the names of <hi rend="underline">all</hi> the Committee, for, I hope, a real
              friend.</p>
