            letter does not have an address or addressee. It seems likely, however, that Hone is
            replying to Treasury Solictor George Maule's letter of the same day informing Hone of the order

            <p>I feel myself bound to thank you for the courtesy of your answer to my inquiries
              respecting the Trial of the Informations against me and I take the opportunity of
              stating that forced as I am to the necessity of defending myself in the best way I am
              able I hope that you will not impute any of my endeavours to do so on the day of Trial
              to the slightest intention of giving you personal offence.</p>
